You'd think this card would've been easy to make...
...but nooooooo.
This card is for an SCS challenge by Julie Ebersole (JulieHRR). She is the queen of the white, single layer card. Layering is my life! Okay, maybe it's not that important to me, but layering is a must on pretty much every one of my cards. So this was a TRUE challenge for me.
I started out using white cs and had a different set of stamps in mind. So I commenced to creating and ran into a huge snag when I forgot that I had added mono adhesive on the inside cover for some ribbon I was going to add. So while I was fixing something on the front of the card, the inside was quickly being ruined as it glued together. Ugh! Scrap that one.
Then I decided to use some different stamps and go with Kraft cs. Oh, it looked good, but once again I had ribbon and adhesive issues. After scrapping several attempts I decided to go back to the white since that was really more the "Julie" look. I almost ran into ribbon and adhesive issues again when I finally got the dern card made and without smears for once.
So the card above is what I ended up with. I think I'll stick with layers.
Stamps: Both by Dawn Houser
CS: White
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Plaid ribbon, polka dot ribbon, 1/8" hole punch for ribbon around the dress, Stamp-a-ma-jig

All issues aside, I think it's fantastic!! You did a great job...I love the black & white color combo and the way you did the ribbons! That 'sash' on the dress is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd give you an FYI, though, that the image isn't showing up on SCS...maybe it's just me, but you might want to check to be sure! This one deserves to be seen! ;)

You're very kind, Michelle. I deleted it over there because I was too unhappy with it. I'm reworking it (NOT a la Julie, though, lol) and will repost it if I like the results. Thanks for the kind words!
