Thinking of You Lace
Not much time for stamping this week. Last night while in town to celebrate or littlest's birthday I decided NOW was the time to get that Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch I've been drooling over for some time.
Here's the first card I've made with it, and of course, I had to incorporate black into it somehow. I love the double lace look; kind of like a petticoat.
The white background is not something I normally pick, but I was so excited about the way the plaid designer paper set it off, or the other way around that I quickly came up with this card idea. I ran the white cs through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I used black cs behind the plaid to pop it out even more. I also physically popped the plaid and black by putting Dimensionals behind the black. Before adhering that to the white I added the black polka dot ribbon.
The saying is from Savvy Stamps. I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up on the plaid. The 3 gems are Icons by Me & My Big Ideas. They came in a multi-colored assortment at Michael's.
For the main image I first ran the white cs through the Cuttlebug using a small circle Nestabilities die. I then dry-embossed the edge and then stamped the image from the SU Sketches set. I added a few lines to the image. I gave her short sleeves and a table. ;) Her blouse and hat are a combination of SU Bashful Blue and CTMH Breeze markers. Her skin is Blush Blossom and her hair and shadow are Creamy Caramel. The table is Close to Cocoa.
As you can see, I went wild with paper piercing again. I went around both scalloped edges and the plain circle. I also pierced a small border around the rim of the hat and along the hat band area. I used Dimensionals behind all the circles.
A fun and satisfying card to make. Thanks for looking!

ReplyDeleteRATS! I just read through the blog. I am going to have to drop $24.99 on some Nestabilities for this card. Guess it's time I bit that bullet anyway.
