Inexpensive way to make alcohol ink applicator pads

If you use alcohol inks and an applicator with removable felt pads, here's a tip I ran across that keeps the cost down on those pads.

    Without having seen them I can't say for sure, but what about some kind of make-up remover pads? Do you think they'd work? That's the only thing that comes to mind, but if I run across another tip I'll share it!
